About Bitcoin Private (BTCP)
Bitcoin Private (BTCP) is a community-driven, private, decentralized, fast, open source coin that was formed as a result of a hard fork merger between Bitcoin (BTC) and ZClassic (ZCL), forming a new blockchain on March 2, 2018.
Anyone holding ZCL or BTC in a wallet or supported exchange has been credited Bitcoin Private (BTCP) at a 1:1 ratio. Just like BTC, BTCP supports peer-to-peer transactions without an intermediary. These transactions are verified by network nodes through the use of cryptography and recorded in a public ledger. However, unlike BTC, BTCP supports a slightly increased block size while being more anonymous and secure than any existing Bitcoin-based currency without sacrificing transaction speeds.
Bitcoin Private uses the same privacy technology as ZClassic (zk-snarks). This means payments are published on a public blockchain, but the sender, recipient and other transactional metadata remain unidentifiable.
BTCP has a total supply of 20.43 million and as at the time of this writing, BTCP worth $23.89 and have a market cap of $496.22 million.
